RIVER DRAGONS WORK TO BUILD WINNING ROSTER

The Columbus River Dragons, proud members of the FPHL, are pleased to announce that they have received player commitments from Jake Howie and Jon Evans. These players bring a combination of speed, skill, and toughness that falls in line with the River Dragons’ blueprint for building a winning hockey team.

Jake Howie is a 5’8, 160-pound forward from Grand Blanc, MI. Jake comes to the

River Dragons after a successful four-year stint at Marian University where he averaged a little less than a point a game. The speedy forward played eight games with the

Evansville Thunderbolts of the SPHL after his college career came to an end last year. During his time with the Thunderbolts, Jake scored his first professional goal.

Jon Evans is a 6’4, 235-pound utility player that comes to the River Dragons from Midland, MI. Jon is a big, rugged player that has played both forward and defense at a high level of competitive hockey. He spent three seasons playing junior hockey in the NAHL developmental systems where he was the type of player that would finish his checks and protect his teammates in each of their games.

HOCKEY RETURNS to the Columbus Civic Center on Friday, November 1st at 7:35 PM when your River Dragons take on the Elmira Enforcers to open the home portion of their inaugural FPHL schedule. Visit www.rdragons.com for season tickets and for complete information about the Columbus River Dragons.
