River Dragons Sign Forward Pete Giambattista for 2026-27 Season

COLUMBUS, GA – The Columbus River Dragons are pleased to announce the signing of forward Pete Giambattista for the 2026-27 season.

Giambattista, 24, brings a physical presence to the Dragons’ forward group as he prepares to return to competitive action after a season away from the game. The 6-foot-3, 201-pound forward made his professional debut during the 2024-25 season, appearing in one game with the Dashers Hockey Club. Now, Giambattista will look to establish himself at the professional level and make the most of his opportunity in Columbus.

A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Giambattista spent several seasons developing his game in the USPHL Premier. From 2019-22, he skated for the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes, recording 26 goals and 25 assists for 51 points in 73 games. He also accumulated 225 penalty minutes, reflecting the physical edge he brings to the ice.

Giambattista began his junior career with the Carolina Eagles of the USPHL Elite during the 2018-19 season, posting 13 goals and 12 assists in 43 games. He returned to the Elite level with the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes in 2019-20, finishing with 13 goals and 13 assists in 30 appearances. Across those two seasons, he demonstrated an ability to contribute offensively while maintaining an aggressive, hard-nosed style of play.

With his size, physicality, and willingness to compete, Giambattista will look to carve out a role within the Dragons’ lineup and bring added grit to the forward group as Columbus prepares for the 2026-27 campaign.

Welcome to Columbus, Pete!
