RIVER DRAGONS SIGN BRANT SHERWOOD

The Columbus River Dragons, members of the FPHL, are thrilled to announce that they have signed Brant Sherwood. Sherwood is a 6’0 170-pound forward from Rochester, NY that began his professional career with the Berlin River Drivers of the FPHL. After spending a year developing with the River Drivers, he signed with the Mississippi RiverKings of the

Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). During his two seasons with the RiverKings, he had 68 points (29 goals and 39 assists) and 167 penalty minutes in 101 games. Sherwood then signed with the Pensacola Ice Flyers at the beginning of the 2018/2019 season where he played 31 games before getting the call up to the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL.

Brant is a smooth skating forward with great speed and good hands that should provide a lot of scoring for the River Dragons this season.

Scott Brand(the River Dragons’ President and General Manager), had this to say about the signing, “ We are thrilled to have a player of Brant’s caliber coming to Columbus this season. He is a tough and highly skilled player and that is what we consider to be the prototypical River Dragons team member.” Brant, who was all smiles after the signing, had this to say, “I’m beyond excited to sign in Columbus. It’s great to see the sport back in a passionate hockey town. I see a lot of change happening in hockey, and I want to be a part of something meaningful in the last few years of my career. This was a pretty easy decision given my past experience and knowledge of the Columbus management team. They want to win a championship here as do I, so let’s get this show on the road!”
