River Dragons Add Defenseman Dom Della Civita

COLUMBUS, GA – The Columbus River Dragons are pleased to announce the signing of defenseman Dom Della Civita, who was selected by Columbus in the Pee Dee Dispersal Draft on July 10.

The Trenton, Ontario native enters his second full professional season after making his professional debut with the Watertown Wolves late down the stretch in 2025. Della Civita began last season with the Macon Mayhem of the SPHL, appearing in 13 games and recording one assist and 31 penalty minutes before returning to Watertown.

In seven games with the Wolves, Della Civita registered three goals and seven assists. He was later acquired by the Pee Dee IceCats, where he added four goals and nine assists in 30 games while helping the club capture the Continental Division Championship in its inaugural season.

Before turning professional, the 27-year-old spent four seasons at the NCAA Division III level. Della Civita played three seasons at Morrisville State before transferring to Misericordia University for his senior campaign, where he was named team captain. Over 88 collegiate games, the 6-foot-1, 194-pound defenseman recorded five goals and 12 assists while accumulating 72 penalty minutes.

Della Civita also brings extensive junior experience, spending three seasons in the Ontario Junior Hockey League from 2017 to 2020. He began his career with the Cobourg Cougars before stints with the Newmarket Hurricanes and Markham Royals, serving as captain of Markham during his final season. Across 157 OJHL games, he totaled six goals and 26 assists with 230 penalty minutes.

With the River Dragons reshaping their defensive corps this offseason, Della Civita provides Columbus with a solid presence and proven leadership as the club continues to build its blue line for the 2026-27 season.
