Dragons Add Proven Scorer Carson Baptiste

COLUMBUS, GA – The Columbus River Dragons are pleased to announce the signing of forward Carson Baptiste for the 2026-27 season.

The 23-year-old joins Columbus after spending last season with the Wetaskiwin Longhorns of the North Central Hockey League. Baptiste returns to the professional ranks after an impressive rookie campaign in 2024-25 that saw him split time between the Motor City Rockers of the Federal Prospects Hockey League and the Peoria Rivermen of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

Baptiste made an immediate impact with Motor City, recording 20 points (9 goals, 11 assists) in 21 games before earning an opportunity with Peoria. He continued his offensive success in the SPHL, posting 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 29 contests to cap off a productive first professional season.

A native of Maskwacis, Alberta, the 6-foot, 185-pound forward has established himself as a dynamic offensive threat throughout his career. Prior to turning professional, Baptiste put together one of the most dominant seasons in recent memory with the Edson Eagles of the National Junior Hockey League during the 2023-24 campaign. In just 37 games, he amassed an astounding 100 goals and 79 assists, showcasing the scoring touch and playmaking ability that have defined his game.

Baptiste brings proven offensive production, speed, and finishing ability to a River Dragons forward corps that continues to take shape ahead of the 2026-27 season. His ability to create scoring opportunities and produce at every level makes him an exciting addition in Columbus.
