COLUMBUS RIVER DRAGONS NAME DEVIN DOBEK BROADCASTER AND MEDIA RELATIONS MANAGER

COLUMBUS, GA — The Columbus River Dragons are proud to announce the hiring of Devin Dobek as the organization's new Broadcaster and Media Relations Manager ahead of the upcoming season.

Dobek joins the River Dragons for his 3rd professional season with a diverse background in sports broadcasting, media relations, digital content creation, and game-day production. Most recently he served as the Broadcaster and Director of Media for the Biloxi Breakers, and the year prior was the Director of Media and Corporate Partnerships for the Dashers Hockey Club.

"Our organization has a long track record of elite broadcasting talent, with former broadcasters earning Broadcaster of the Year honors while in front of the River Dragons cameras," said Jeff Croop, Ignite Sports and Entertainment COO, Governor, and General Manager. "We believe Devin Dobek has the talent, work ethic, and passion to continue that tradition. From our first conversations, it was clear that he shares our commitment to delivering a first-class experience for our fans, and we're thrilled to welcome him to the team."

Dobek has built a reputation for his energetic broadcasting style, strong storytelling ability, and commitment to community engagement. Throughout his career, he has worked in various aspects of sports communications and media operations, developing content that connects organizations with fans while helping elevate team brands.

Prior to his time in the FPHL, Devin served as the Sports Director for UMass’s student-run radio station, 91.1 WMUA, covering primarily men’s ice hockey and basketball while earning a degree in marketing from the Isenberg School of Management. He has also contributed to digital content as a viceroy for “ZooMass,” a Barstool Sports collegiate affiliate, and currently assists with operations for Barstool Boston.

During the summer months, Dobek has spent five seasons calling summer collegiate baseball. He began with the Valley Blue Sox of the NECBL before joining the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League’s Harwich Mariners for four seasons—culminating in a league championship in 2024.

Dobek hails from East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, where he began his broadcasting journey as the play-by-play voice for football, hockey, and basketball on the local station.

"I am incredibly honored and excited to join a first class organization like the Columbus River Dragons," said Dobek. "The tradition and culture of hockey in Columbus is tangible when you enter the Civic Center, and I look forward to helping share the stories of this team, our players, and our passionate fan base. I'm grateful for the opportunity and can't wait to get started in Columbus."

As Broadcaster and Media Relations Manager, Dobek will be responsible for but not limited to: delivering live play-by-play broadcasts of all River Dragons games, coordinating media coverage, producing digital content, managing press releases and team communications, and assisting with community outreach efforts throughout the Chattahoochee Valley.
