Austin Daae Returns For 21-22 Season

Columbus, GA - The Columbus River Dragons are excited to announce the return of forward Austin Daae to the roster ahead of the 2021-22 season.

Daae was a key part of the Dragons' Ignite Cup Championship season tallying 14 points (6G-8A) in 20 regular season games and made a big impact in the playoffs with a goal and a co-league leading five assists in the three-game sweep over Elmira.

"I'm excited to get back on the ice with a great organization like Columbus and continue building off of what we did last year" Daae said. "Having a good group of guys coming back that want to bring another championship to our fans is what it's all about and we're building that up all over again."

Daae, a Saskatchewan native is going into his 8th year pro spending time primarily in the SPHL and FPHL. Across those two leagues he has appeared in over 300 games and in the Federal league specifically he has played in 128 games and has racked up 165 points (66G-99A). His FPHL stops prior to Columbus were in Port Huron, Berlin and Watertown, while in the SPHL he has appeared in games for seven different franchises including the Columbus Cottonmouths for four games in the 2016-17 season.

Daae joins Pietrantonio and Rutledge from last year's Ignite Cup championship team to join the 21-22 roster, with camp starting up at the end of the week, the roster will be built quickly as the team gears up for the next campaign.
